I am working out the details for a new monthly real estate report for Gainesville & Alachua County real estate. We’ll be publishing it here at the beginning of each month and giving it out to anyone that is interested. Contact Us if you would like a copy sent to you.
I have the basics included in this Real Estate Market Report, but I am adding a few more things to the next report.

the Gainesville & Alachua County Real Estate Market Report
Between Gator Football and family life (back-to-school, sports, etc) September normally has a big slow down in home sales. It seems that once football season starts most people in Gainesville turn their attention away from buying homes!
This year was different. We actually had a 20% increase in contracts and a 41% increase in closed sales last month! There were a lot of factors that caused buyers to take the leap, but I’m sure many people were thinking about taking advantage of the $8,000 tax credit before it runs out.
Another interesting affect of the $8,000 tax credit is that more inexpensive homes are selling than would normally be the case, causing the average sale prices to be depressed.
