Homes were on the market 6 months on average before they got a contract. Most of those sellers lowered their asking prices at least once before getting a contract.
Prices are still moving but the changes have been much smaller in this year. The average price so far this year is only $2,600 less than last year.

On April 5, lenders and mortgage investors will have even more incentives to offer troubled borrowers short sales instead of foreclosing.
